MULTI LIT: In Fences, the fence is a physical object, but it can also represent the emotional or personal barriers people create. Think about a “fence” you have built in your own life. What were you trying to keep out or protect yourself from? Did that fence help you or hold you back?

Now probably an emotional fence was when a person left and I decided to put a fence around my emotions. Not only because I didn’t wanted to get hurt but because I also didn’t wanted to be used and seen as a benefit rather than a person. Because when you get hurt and you find out the reason why they left or why they were with you it hurts a lot and makes you build fences to protect yourself.

Reflection: Learning to have limits can help you save yourself from getting hurt or mentally overwhelmed.

Summary: Fences don’t have to be physical, they can also be emotional or mental.
